Truth and Magic
02:18
|
|||
They don't know me
They don't see what I really am
The truth and the magic
So I have to give something to them
That they can attach to
Nowhere to go when that feeling hits
I want to move beyond it
But, the wall
Always the wall
And when I wake up
I am sweating
I can't remember
Who is speaking?
"You're so scared of the future"
"All they do is erase us"
"Our voices don't matter here"
I know the struggle
The unknown struggle
Yours is a struggle
It takes center stage
I see the real
I see the fake
I count the points
You can win this time
You can go
Beyond the wall
Always the wall
And this over
I declare it now
This is over
I'll say it as many times as it takes
It's my turn
You can go out now

No Time
03:57
|
|||
"They can’t erase this
There is no power here
They have no time
There is no time here
All things end
In a circle
At the end of time
I’m privy to
Something special
You don’t see
Let me be"
But, can you open up?
"This is where we are
We’re all standing in a circle
We’re all in the same room
Staring at the same screen
When it turns off
Where will we look?
When it turns off
Where will we look?"
Do you see yourself in the mirror?
Do you turn away?
Do you love all you see?
Do you have a family?
There are things that only you can say
Don’t let them die
There are things that only you can say
Don’t let them go away

Let It Out (Pink Hair)
03:27
|
|||
Try this
Let it out
Speak and just "Hi"
Say what you wanted to now
You've always wanted to
I've never known anyone like you
You come from somewhere I don't know
But, you came at just the right time
I was scared even though
I knew that it was right then
Standing there with your pink hair
We found each other after some
Technical difficulties
That we lived through
We both lived through
You spoke to a part of me
I felt comfortable
You felt comfortable
We felt safe in the right place
We have been so many places
We have a secret here now
I feel guilty sometimes
To let this light shine
To know and be known now
What more?
What more?
So much can come from this and
We are here to stay
We are here
We are here now
And it's okay
To let this light shine
In the darkness
Let the light shine
In the darkness
Let our light shine in the darkness
Never thought I would find you there
At the airport waving with your pink hair
It's funny how time creeps up on you
And what you need will sneak up
And surprise you

Where is it going?
I’m trying to remember
Thoughts come to me
33
How long have you been here?
Face down
Don’t think we stood tall
Face down
We fight little battles
For little crowns
Are you even trying to see
Why you move?
Why you move your way?
Keep running down that hill
It’s the opposite
That’s all that matters
Isn’t it?
And is it mattering still?
Do you know why?
Do you do it ‘cause it’s right?
Do you do it to be right?
Do you do it because it’s right?
Or do you do it to be right?
You fight
And you fight
And you fight
And you fight
And you fight
And you fight
And you fight
And you fight
And you fight
For the crown
For the ground

The Last Time
04:16
|
|||
I fell asleep at the wheel
It's the last time I'm gonna say it
You know me
But, you didn't see me coming
Which way did I go?
Where am I from?
Do you know what it means?
I took my turn
I tried so hard
And I keep on trying
Even when I'm so out of place
You were looking for space
You wanted to know
I had to go
(Had to go somewhere and look at the moon)
Tell me when it started
In a house by the highway
The woods are so dark
But there's someone there
It was never finished there
I had to find myself
And I never even knew you
You never tried or cared
Like I thought that you did
You have different ideas
Of what it means to be a friend
You were never as good
As you thought you were
You let me down
You're really not that smart
I held you up
It's really all my fault
You let me down
It's really all your fault
I held you up
I'm really not that smart
You remember on the stage?
The electricity that came through the air
But you could barely stand up
All the fire and rage
Who could you hate?

Mystery
06:17
|
|||
This is not a place for us
We are not known here
We can't be known in a world like this
You look at me
And you think you see
You know everything
But, you're tripping up
You don't even see yourself
How can you see me?
But, I'm used to it now
I'm so used to it
Being a small spot on the surface
But something massive underneath
More than can be expressed
Or understood
I would
I would've said it if I could...
We still have a chance
The sun comes out
And sometimes it goes down
Looking like fire
But, that's a good sign
Keep looking
Keep trying to do the right things
It will come back in a mystery

Pretty Language
04:59
|
|||
Pretty language
No fancy
No Time
It can't express
It can't quite say it
You understood though
We saw through
They saw us through
The struggle continues
They don't know
Always we are out and about
Always looking out
We trip over the closest thing
It's not even dark like that
The subtlety that's inside of me
I see you longing to be just like me
What a strange thing
When I wanted to be like you
I wanted to be seen
Then I disappeared
Then we were blended together
Blended in with the surface
Still not trying to think
It hurts my head
I try so hard
There is more to this
So much more to this
And all the things you need to love the puzzle are within arms reach
Pretty language
No Fancy
No Time
I can't express it
I can't quite say it
But, you understood though
You understand though
At least you say you do
We saw us through
They saw us through
And we saw through
The struggle continues
They don't know
Always we are out and about
Always looking out
We trip over the closest thing
It's not even dark like that
The subtlety it's inside of me
I see you longing to be
I see you longing to be just like me
What a strange thing
I always wanted to be like you
I wanted to be seen
Then I disappeared

I Came Back
06:46
|
|||
We stood alone in your kitchen
We talked a long, long time
There was a lot that I said
I went away I took a journey
I've been many places
But mostly, I remember the roads
We talked in your backyard
It was quite dark
You read my palm
You were with child
You drank and smoked
You cursed at your mother
I walked alone a lot
I almost stepped on a snake
I saved someone's dog
I drove all night to find a place for her to stay
I've seen many miles away from here
You can see it on my face
I talked to god in your kitchen
But, it was really you
Because the drugs
How many stories did you tell me from high places?
You know I've seen plenty from high places
(My favorite thing, so predictable)
I always go the same way
We ate our first meal on your floor
I knew something had started
It was a hard time
Lots of conflict
In the end, I had to leave
It was hard to let go
I lost my car in the Quarter
Everything was strange
I saw a man on the train tracks
Playing a saxophone
It could get so quiet in that city
The rooster crowed outside my window
At midnight every night
I drove at the end of the Earth
There was just nothing but water
On either side
I came back to tell you...
I came back to tell you
That you forgot to remind me
